The CFA Society Sri Lanka is to unveil its virtual course on “Enhancing Investment Management with Python and Machine Learning” in collaboration with Acuity Knowledge Partners commencing from September 28, CFA said in a media release.
Commenting about the launch of this virtual course, Dinesh Warusavitharana CFA, President CFA Society Sri Lanka said that technology has already transformed many industries, from the medical to the automotive. However, its adoption in investment management so far has been limited and machine learning can transform the way investment strategies are administered by all types of managers who will have a greater potential to drive investment decisions.

He further stated that machine learning usage is on the rise. Investors are also increasingly using big data, AI and machine learning to inform asset allocation and investment decision-making, and funds are beginning to incorporate machine learning into ESG analysis and measuring impact. In this context this course will help investment professionals to upskill to strive higher for excellence.
The objective of the course would be to enable financial analysts to get an intuitive understanding into key data science aspects, experiment with them, and explore how they can be applied in real world applications and course would cover; Basic understanding of using python for analytics, Refreshment and practical application of statistics, Practical portfolio optimization in python, and Understanding and implementing basic Machine Learning in python.
