The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was closed for trading on Tuesday May 10, the CSE said in a statement. Due to operational reasons, Tuesday was declared a market holiday.
Meanwhile an island-wide curfew that was imposed on Monday at noon which was to be lifted at 7 am on Tuesday has been extended for another day. The curfew was enforced after pro-Mahinda Rajapaksa supporters attacked anti-government supporters, triggering large-scale riots and attacks on the vehicles and homes of government politicians.
