Another 66 deaths due to COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday (July 28) bringing the total death toll to 4,324, the office of the Director-General of Health Services said.
Among the deaths, 41 are of males and 25 of females. The majority of the deaths numbering 49 are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group.
Meanwhile, 2,370 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Thursday, according to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry. Among them, 2,329 are from the New Year cluster and 41 are foreign arrivals currently in quarantine.
