Twenty-seven persons have died from COVID-19 on December 1, the Director General of Health confirmed on Thursday (2).
This increases the total death toll from the virus to 14,399. Majority of deaths are above 60 years of age.
Meanwhile, 738 persons were tested positive for the virus on Thursday. According to the Health Ministry, 565,471 confirmed COVID positive cases have been reported since the first wave. At present 9,748 persons are being treated for Coronavirus.
