Forty eight (48) persons have died on Monday (26) increasing the country’s death toll from the virus to 4,195, Director General of Health Services confirmed today (28).
Out of the daily deaths, the majority were males (28) and 20 females. Thirty eight persons who succumbed to the virus are above 60 years of age.
Meanwhile, 1,688 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (27) bringing the total number of infected persons in the country to 299,869, the Epidemiology Unit said.
