The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) continued their island wide strike for the third consecutive day today (23).
Meanwhile, medical laboratory technicians, supplementary medicinal professionals, nurses and other medical staff officials have started a trade union action in the Sabaragamuwa Province. Their union action is taking place at three main teaching hospitals, six base hospitals and 32 provincial hospitals in the province.
Additionally the services provided by 19 MOH offices are affected as well.
TU action is over issues in granting post internship appointments by the Secretary to the Ministry of Health.
