Hemas Group, in a rare show of support by a Sri Lankan corporate, on Monday said it was supporting thousands of Sri Lankans who are urging the government and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to step down.
“Today we stand with our people and we urge the authorities to put forward a sustainable solution that can end the suffering of Sri Lankans, and ensure the future of the country,” it said in a statement.
Hemas said it was deeply concerned about the unimaginable hardships faced by the people, adding: “At this time Hemas stands shoulder to shoulder with our teams and the people of Sri Lanka as they express themselves freely.”
