New Cardiac care complex to Ratnapura Hospital
The cabinet has decided to construct a new cardiac care complex at the Ratnapura teaching hospital. The decision had been taken following a discussion regarding the health facilities provided to the people of Sabragamuwa province.
At the meeting, it was realized that the Ratnapura Teaching hospital which serves nearly two million people in the province, needs more facilities despite it already providing cardiac care services. The hospital faces various difficulties due to inadequate physical facilities.
Considering the facts the cabinet decided to approve the proposal to build the cardiac complex with the necessary facilities. They also agreed to the proposal that the contract be awarded to the Central Engineering Consultancy bureau on a design, build and handover basis.
The cabinet proposal was made by Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella .
