In a hastag #savesrilankasavetourism, multiple stakeholders in the industry are expected to congregate outside the SLTPB office demanding solutions to many issues and also campaigning for the removal of the current SLTPB chairperson Kirmali Fernando who has been having many issues with various stakeholders. The protest has been called by various tourism associations.

The protestors are demanding uninterrupted supply of gas, fuel, power and access to social media; abolishing the 20th Amendment which allows dual citizens to enter parliament; freedom of speech; appoint competent and credible people to make economic decisions; eradicate corruption; and remove emergency rule among other issues.
