President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (Mar 31) said that he has already decided on a date on which the death penalty would be implemented.
He made this remark during an event organised by multi-religious leaders against the usage of narcotics.
During his address, Mr. Sirisena observed that the laws against narcotics have now been strengthened.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith was quoted as saying that narcotic peddlers, if identified as Catholics, must be removed from the Catholic Council.
