The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will sign an MoU with the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) pledging support to SLPP presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa tomorrow (Oct 18), a spokesman for the party said.
The agreement will be signed at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.
It was revealed at a United Peoples Freedom Alliance news briefing last week, that the CWC led by parliamentarian Arumugam Thondaman will support SLPP presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the upcoming poll.
"The CWC led by parliamentarian Arumugam Thondaman will work towards ensuring the victory of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa by obtaining the votes of the estate community," UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera said.
The SLFP which is a constituent party of the UPFA, too signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the SLPP to form an alliance, last week.
