In 1982, Sri Lanka’s Film and Music Industry lost a much loved and versatile actor and singer. His name was Sudesh Gunaratne. He acted in a total of seven films, which were screened from 1965 to 1984. The films were Sweep Ticket, Golu Hadawatha, Wasana, Hithuvakkarrayo, Jeewanthi, Dayabara Nilu and Hadawathaka Vedana. Apart from being a talented actor, he had an amazing and unique voice, which gave rise to a number of beautiful and soothing Sinhala songs. But, at the age of 38, Sudesh Gunaratne passed away. This short biography, written by his niece, is a tribute to honor his work and life so that his memory and legacy may live on!
