Sri Lanka added five additional players to the existing squad of 18, for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
The inclusion was made by the selection committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Friday (1).
Accordingly Pathum Nissanka, Minod Bhanuka, Ashen Bandara, Lakshan Sandakan and Ramesh Mendis will join the Sri Lanka squad, who will leave the country to Oman on Sunday (3).
Sri Lanka will play two practice T20 games against Oman before taking part in the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier, which will be held in the UAE later this month.
However, Lahiru Madushanka, who was named in the original squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, will not travel with the team as he is recovering from an injury.
Accordingly, a total of 23 players will consist of Sri Lanka’s World Cup squad.
