Cricket: Sri Lanka appoints ‘Lead Physiotherapist’

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed Australian Brett Harrop as the Lead Physiotherapist of the national cricket team according to a press release issued on Friday (4). 
 
"His appointment for a two-year period came into effect from May 21, 2021," the SLC statement said. 
 
Before joining Sri Lanka, Harrop has been working as the Sports Physiotherapist for New Zealand Cricket. 

He has also worked as the High-Performance Rehabilitation Manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. 
 
Harrop, a former Australian First Class cricketer, has worked as the Head Physiotherapist of the Kings XI Punjab, a franchise of the Indian Premier League, and held the same position at the Lahore Qalandars of the Pakistan Super League.

He has obtained a Master of Exercise Science from the Edith Cowan University, of Australia and a Master of Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, Australia, among many of his qualifications.
 
He has already arrived in Sri Lanka and is undergoing the mandatory quarantine period before joining the National team for the tour of England, which will be his first assignment.
