Cricket: Yorkshire signs Dimuth Karunaratne

Yorkshire Country has signed up Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne for the forthcoming season. The 33-year-old is expected to play four matches before joining the Sri Lanka team in Bangladesh. This will be his first country stint and Sri Lanka Cricket has given the No Objection Certificate to travel to England. Sources said he is expected to leave the country on April 10.

Earlier, Sri Lanka seamer Suranga Lakmal retired from international cricket to join Derbyshire county on a two-year contract.
